Seaside Primary Suite Project

This seaside home's primary suite was in need of a major overhaul. The bathroom was extremely outdated and not well thought out for storage and use of the huge space. The bedroom had heavy drapery and shades covering up the gorgeous windows and millwork, not to mention the expansive ocean views front and center. Nothing about this owners retreat screamed coastal or luxury and it now needed to fit the rest of the home.  The finished spaces include a beautiful spa-like primary bath, an expansive bedroom that includes a sitting area, all designed to create the zen feeling the clients were looking for.

Wheeler Home

This renovation included not only gutting and rebuilding the large kitchen but allowed us to allow redo the walk-in pantry to be much more useful and also a quick glow-up of the laundry room. 

Lakeside Haven

A new-build lake side home built in Maine over the course of 3 years. Included the new main house with garage apartment along with the redesign and complete overhaul of the original smaller cottage built in the 1940s to become a legacy property for a large family.

Portland Penthouse

This project started with the developers’ floor plans and allowed the client and I to dictate the overall look. Though a very modern and eco-friendly building design, we didn’t want the home to feel cold or too modern. It needed to be warm and inviting the moment you entered and take advantage of the incredible views of the ocean and city. 

From the finishes and custom work I designed, to all lighting, tille and flooring, we chose every item for this home. The mix of steel, leathers, walnut accents and furnishings, and great textures and fabrics, the home is as impressive in feel as the view out the deck.

Hamilton House

This was a whole-home interior redesign. The kitchen was gutted and a wall removed to open it up completely the dining area and great room creating a much better flow and entertainer's space. The entire interior and exterior of the home was painted with white walls and all the trim a lovely charcoal. The once dark-stained maple hardwood floors were sanded and coated with a matte clear coat finish and just those 2 things completely changed the feel of the entire interior. The primary suite got a major upgrade also with the addition of hardwood flooring, a new walk-in closet and a newly designed bathroom with walk-in shower.

Lakehouse in Maine

My clients purchased this lakefront home in the fall of 2019 and enlisted RDI to redecorate the entire home from the previous owners’ very traditional style. The bones of the home were already impressive and we knew we had to enhance the amazing views of the lake that the property had.

They wanted a more sophisticated feel but also wanted to keep it somewhat casual.  It needed to handle lots of gatherings and their three active teenagers as well as stand the test of time. We also needed to complement the amazing architecture. There was a request to add a home office for the couple to work from home on occasion and finish the lower level family room to include a pool table and builtin bar with a mandatory wine fridge and ice maker.

In the winter of 2023 we attacked the outdated kitchen with a complete demo and overhaul, as well as the home's bathrooms. We can finally say that every inch of this interior has been updated and will last for generations.

Since the clients lived in another state, much of the planning and decisions were done via email and digital ideaboards.. The clients were very generous in allowing us to take the reigns in the overall design and options chosen with only a few joint decisions. The final reveal was jaw dropping and a few tears of gratitude were shed. Truly a beautiful home for many generations to come.

Jacobs Condo Do-Over

Seaside Primary Bath

The client of this seaside home had been dreaming of finally upgrading their primary bathroom- 20 years is long enough. They wanted bright and light and better use of the space. An oversized jacuzzi tub was never used as it took forever to fill and wasn't the most easy to enter and exit. Besides that, it completely overpowered the room. A single vanity needed to upgraded and the small corner shower needed to be expanded. 

Tile and wallpaper became the stars of the renovation, along with exquisite light fixtures and the warmth of a freestanding, double vanity in a white oak finish. Subtle nods to the former 'purple' colors of the previous space make the homeowner chuckle at what a little color can do for a space.
